Nigel Bromley (Independent)
Not initially from a traditional music family (his father was a coal miner!) Nigel first was inspired to play drums after his dad took him to see Louie Bellson play in Nottingham in the 70s. He shook the youngster by the hand and wished him well and within a year Nigel was playing in his first proper band and appearing in talent shows such as Opportunity Knocks playing the wipe out drum solo and covers of Status Quo, The Shadows, Boney M etc.. An exciting player visually and a very natural passionate player rhythmically dates with popsters Wham!, Grammy award winning guitarist Albert Lee, Grammy nominated world music artist Nitin Sawnhey were early highlights. Moving to Nashville for a while in the 90’s Nigel toured with the likes of Heather Myles, number 1 billboard song-writer/ artist James House, country legend Crystal Gale and others. A spell Downunder intervened touring with 12 piece soul revue Gotham City Horns, indie pop act Cats Crafty, Latin jazzers Cassie and the Bossa Beats before returning to his roots here in the UK.
Have drums..will travel is very much Nigel’s motto and currently he has been playing drums in a variety of situations including an Elvis theatre tribute (along with a 10 piece Ludwig vintage Ronnie Tutt special), Steve Grants amazing rocked up classics show Barok and depping with a couple of funk and function bands.
