Boneto Dryden

Aynsley Lister

Known affectionately as ‘Bunny’, is a much-admired individual. He embarked upon his musical path aged 12, playing the drums at his local church. His experience grew quickly and by 14, he was the first call drummer for many local choirs and Gospel and Jazz groups in Birmingham. As a result of being mentored by the likes of Mark Fletcher (Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Ronnie Scott) and Steve ‘Grizzly’ Nesbit (Grammy winning Reggae band Steel Pulse), his natural flair for drumming broadened; as so did his mastery of a multitude of genres.

Subsequently, shortly after turning 18, he embarked upon his first international tour of West Africa. As excited as he was about his first international venture, he will not hesitate to make mention one of his touring highlights to date: the Japanese ‘Zao Jazz’ Festival; as the drummer for the legendary, original diva, Chaka Khan.

Amongst others, Bunny has collaborated extensively for a number of years, with Los Angeles singer songwriter, Howard McCrary (Dionne Warwick, John Patitucci), and he is a primary member of the Birmingham based Prime Studios and their pioneering project called, ´Chromosome Live Lab’ which is featured on YouTube. The channel features signed and unsigned Grime Artists, performing ´live´ versions of their studio songs. With over a quarter of a million hits within its inaugural months, the project has attracted global interest.

Being the longstanding drummer for Musical Youth, Bunny is also recording on their forthcoming album. He is also touring nationally and internationally with the remarkable singer/songwriter and Glastonbury headliner, Aynsley Lister (Buddy Guy, John Mayall, Robert Cray). Thus far, Bunny has achieved a Bachelors (2.1) in Music and Professional Practice and he is keen to continue his academic endeavors. A lover of martial arts, badminton and reading, he has an ongoing appetite for his personal development.

Bunny has also recorded/toured/performed with:

The Risk – X Factor Finalist, Garth Hewett, Mark Stevens - Jamaica Boys, Marcus Miller, Lenny White, Aziz Ibrahim - Stone Roses, Simply Red, The Christians, Alvin Ewen - Steel Pulse, Fred Thelonious Baker, Amlak Tafari - Sting, Steel Pulse, Yellow Wall, Junior Tucker Julie Dexter, Andrej Šifrer Konig, Audrey Wheeler – Najee, Freddie Jackson, Jeff Lorber, Steve ´Grizzly´ Nisbett - Steel Pulse, Pato Banton – Sting, Alvin Davis, Selwyn Brown - Steel Pulse, Sherwin Gardner, Ruby Turner, Joolz Gianni, Soweto Kinch, Jason Yarde, Pritam Singh - Shalil Shankar, renowned disciple of legendary Ravi Shankar.
