Joshua Blackmore

Independent

Joshua was born in London into a musical family on May 20th 1986. Growing up in Derbyshire, Joshua played in Country Youth Orchestras, Wind Bands and Jazz Bands throughout secondary school and by 15 he was playing professionally. At 18 Joshua moved back to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated in 2008 with BMus (1st Class Hons.) also gaining his L.R.A.M. and being awarded the Benjamin Doniger prize.

Joshua is a member of ‘Troyka’ (“Ones to watch out for” Jazzwise Magazine), The Piano Trio ‘Curios’ (BBC Radio 3 Jazz Line up Best Band 2008), the Floating Points Ensemble (who won best Maida Vale session of 2009 at Giles Peterson’s World Wide Awards) and many other projects.
