Blair started playing drums at the age of ten, bashing away in his bedroom like most kids. However, he was soon relegated to drumming in the garden shed, far enough away from real humans that he could practice round the clock.
After being accepted to Strathclyde University at the age of seventeen to study Applied Music, Blair started gigging locally around the Glasgow area and further across Scotland with a number of Big Bands, small jazz groups and various folk and pop groups.
Since leaving University, Blair has been employed by a number of theatre productions in Scotland, in addition to his various professional engagements across Europe.
He is currently working with Scottish Nu-Folk band “Findlay Napier and the Bar Room Mountaineers” and newcomers “Pearl and the Puppets”, who have recently supported the likes of Sir Elton John, McFly and Sugababes, played at festivals such as T in the Park, and recorded with David Kosten (AKA DJ Faultline) and Steve Chrisanthou (Corinne Bailey Rae).
